“After having been bitten by the Caterham bug about 20 years ago when I had a track day experience at Silverstone and more recently a few hire days, it was time to finally take the plunge into Caterham ownership.
I took my time and did a fair bit of research into what I actually wanted and the correct specification, finally deciding on a 1.8K series SV. Now it was time to find one. GP Sevens have a great selection of quality cars and after a few months the perfect car appeared on their website. I got in touch and Antony was fantastic and so helpful and patient with all my questions. I booked an appointment and flew down from Scotland to view the car.
The Caterham was exactly what I was looking for at the perfect price and after a test drive, the deal was done. A few weeks later I collected the Car and drove back to Ayrshire. Just a note of thanks for the excellent service I received when purchasing my new R300 Superlight. I’m based up in Chester so personally viewing the car prior to purchase would have been difficult, but after plenty of online research and personal recommendations, followed by reassuring no pressure calls with Antony I took the plunge.
A long train trip later I was met by Damian at the station who took me over to the excellent facility at GP Sevens, a coffee and tour of the facilities was followed by an unveiling of my new toy!
Absolutely as described I was delighted, Antony took time to go through all the controls, hints and tips on Seven ownership (including getting in and out!), Craig the workshop manager then went through the technical care points and mechanicals.
GP Seven’s has a lovely, large selection of well looked after Caterham’s.
I was after a low mileage, near mint condition 420 with a certain specification and this is what I achieved.
The surrounding area is great for test drives to help demonstrate what it’s like to drive a Caterham, which other dealers don’t always have.
Damian had good communication and kept me updated every step of the way, he also spent time going over all the features before handing over the car.
This made the whole process end to end very smooth and painless – much better than we’ve experienced with even some large dealers when buying new!

“Just wanted to write a quick review of the whole buying process, which was superb, and as a first time owner, jumping in at not quite the deep end with a 420R.
I’d probably spent about a year researching which model to get and then waiting for one that was more or less to the spec I wanted. One turned up at your place and as you guys are pretty local to me, just had to check it out. I was not disappointed! The test drive sealed the deal (the weather helped a little bit too) and I’m now the very proud owner of a 420R. It wasn’t just the car though, Damian and Antony were great to deal with, friendly, professional and they certainly know their cars!

Since selling the Exige, I had been wanting another ‘fix’ and after a 25 year gap, having another Seven seemed like a good idea. Quite which Seven was going to be the hard part. Having read your reviews and seen your stock, it seemed a logical choice to give you a call and I am so glad I did. You were incredibly helpful – at no point was there any pressure; just good advice as to which car was the best option for me. Sevens are really an incredibly personal thing and I would urge anyone in a similar position to pay GP Sevens a visit. Clearly, buying a 20 year old car can fill you with concern, but I have to say that I couldn’t have been less worried. Between agreeing the purchase and collecting the car, the attention to detail in preparing it became very evident in our communications. Many thanks also to Dan and Zak for helping sort out the pedals on the collection day – it’s that level of service that says everything.
I am so pleased to have a Caterham once more in the garage and look forward to many happy miles. I am also delighted to have you down the road to look after it and no doubt will see you soon for a few ‘upgrades’.

Antony and Damian couldn’t have been more helpful throughout the purchase of my R500. Very open, upfront and honest service, and really do put the customer first. The lads in the workshop are great too. Fantastic team at a very nice premises, beautiful workshops and showroom – very impressive.
We have just got home after picking up our 420R SV purchased from GP Sevens. We had the pleasure of meeting both Damian and Antony, but dealt mostly with Damian.
Honestly I can say without a doubt the whole process from initial enquiry to picking up the car today was exceptional. Walking around the showroom, which is packed full of 7s, Damian talked us through all the different options and specifications which enabled us to zero in on the car that suited us best. There was absolutely no pressure selling or aggressive sales tactics, just a real sense that these guys are true experts in their field.
Once we had decided on the car the preparation of the vehicle before sale was brilliant and even though our car is three years old they made it feel like we were picking up a brand new car straight from the factory. I would recommend GP Sevens to anyone looking to buy a Caterham. We are lucky to live pretty close by, but even if you are further afield it’s well worth the trip.

I started the buying process with Antony in late March. After a bit of research on GP Sevens and their previous sales I decided to trust them and buy my first seven from them. Over a period of 3 months with a series of calls and a long email trail we picked up our unique seven in early July. 3 months after the purchase we saw the final result and it was better than expected!Antony’s approach from the first call made me comfortable enough to trust them and customize further an already unique seven. We locked in the purchase and I gave them the request for the extras. They did the rest and I didn’t have to worry about anything.
They pulled it apart, repainted it and then they put it back together with some small upgrades.
The car had low mileage it ended up being almost brand new when we picked it up.

Well, I’ve been bitten by the Caterham Seven bug!
After many years of occasional hiring, I took the plunge and bought my 2012 Supersport 140 SV from GP Sevens in November 2022. Damian, Antony, and the Team at GP Sevens were great. I loved the car. It had been so well cared for by it’s one previous and was a great spec.
Mad I know, but I handed Damian back the Supersport after less than 9 months of ownership because I couldn’t resist the almost new 310R that appeared on their website in early July 2023.
Damian asked if I was sure that I really wanted to part with the Supersport after such a short period of ownership as it would “pinch my pocket”. Of course, the answer was yes, as once I’d test driven the 310R I had to have it! Watch out owning a Caterham can become addictive!
I took delivery of the 310R after the roll bar was painted and PPF applied. Super car with less than 800 miles on the clock. Superb job on all counts.
I entrusted GP Sevens with a commission sale of the Supersport and 2 days after collecting the 310R Damian phoned me to say that he had sold the Supersport. Result!
Damian, Antony, and the mechanical team are a pleasure to deal with. Shout out to Craig who solved a couple of minor issues with the Supersport and had it popping and banging beautifully for me in no time at all.
In the nicest possible way, I hope I’m not tempted to go visit GP Sevens again in the near future other than for service/maintenance or for their 2024 open day. If you didn’t go in 2023, be sure not to miss their next event.

‘As a potential first time Caterham Seven owner the whole world of Sevens was new to me. It can be a minefield of misinformation and abused cars. Antony and Damien at GP Sevens however filled me with confidence that the Seven I had enquired about was everything I wanted and expected.
I had high expectations and upon arrival I was not disappointed. The car had been described exactly as it was as it stood fully inspected, MOT’d and cleaned ready to go. I was given a comprehensive test drive, handover experience and Antony’s passion for the brand was infectious.
If you’re looking for a Caterham Seven then I cannot recommend the chaps down at GP Sevens enough. They even asked me to drop them a line when I got back home to Derby after 3 hours behind the wheel on the M25/M1…a driving experience I would not recommend in a Seven.

The best car-buying experience ever. Damian and Antony are simply serious enthusiasts who want to share the pleasure of owning a Caterham. Every car, regardless of age or mileage, looks impeccable. Having wanted a Caterham for 20 years, they helped me choose the right car advised very evenly-handedly on the merits of each model.
You can tell they love what they do, So glad I went to see them. No wonder they have such a popular business.
I’ve wanted a Caterham for as long as I can remember, long before having a driving license. After growing way beyond the 6’ mark I had resigned myself to never fitting in one. Recently I started looking around the internet wondering if I could get one custom made to fit not just a tall bloke, but now a tall and quite portly fellow. I discovered the SV chassis that I had no idea existed, and I thought all my prayers were answered. I am so fortunate that I didn’t just purchase a Caterham privately through Autotrader or similar site.
My prayers were really answered when I found the GP Sevens website and gave Antony a call. There was so much more I needed to know before making the right decision, and Antony was only too happy to bring me up to speed. There was no pressure to make a purchase, and Antony was eager to share his knowledge and experience. I needed further setup adjustments to suit my size and build, and the team at GP Sevens were able to help me get into my dream car. My SV Roadsport 150 now takes pride of place on my driveway, and within a fortnight of owning it I joined my local Caterham and Lotus 7 club for my first “Blat”.

After many years running quick conventional sports cars I decided the time was right for me to try out a model I’d admired from afar for a long time. Namely, the Caterham 7. After a quick test drive with my local dealer, I pored over the ads on Pistonheads and ebay to find models at my price point which generally my local dealer didn’t stock. Three examples looked good to me which were all being sold by you guys at GP Sevens. When I phoned one had already been sold but I was able to arrange an appointment to see the other two. Of them one was an obvious choice to go for. It was in great condition and at the right price point.
And the whole team at GP Sevens made the choice an easy one. You came across as extremely professional and knowledgeable with a well cared for showroom and workshop. You were able to adjust the pedals to my liking and set the car up ready for it’s next adventures with me as her owner. The whole transaction was as easy, painless and professional as it could be. The car was prepared to a very high standard on handover and the process was enjoyable, smooth and most of all fun. We were challenged by the September 2021 national fuel shortages, yet you were able to collect me from the station and you found a way to give me a full tank of fuel to get me home and to allow me to enjoy the car for the first few days of ownership. Top class customer service.

A quick note to say thank you so much for your help, guidance and patience in getting me behind the wheel of a Caterham. I also really appreciated your help with sorting out the paperwork and for recommending A-Plan to insure the car.
The Seven is amazing. It is so refreshing to be behind the wheel of a car that needs to be driven. That demands your full attention and returns the complement. I feel like I’ve had to learn how to drive all over again. Fabulous.
You guys certainly did a great job adding the white stripes and they transform the look of the car. Since then I’ve changed the front indicators to clear lenses and converted to brighter LED lamps – important to be clearly seen in a Seven. I’ve also added a 3rd brake light. I installed the Caterham version but really recommend using the official Caterham sub-loom for any 3rd brake light install. It makes the wiring much easier and robust.
I am really looking forward to many happy days/years behind the wheel and can honestly say that any replacement would have to be another Seven from GP Sevens.

I like the driving feel with the Motalita wheel, and the armrest combination, and the nice lumpy front wings and reflections in the headlight bowls! It all feels very 1960s of course, just needs wire wheels!

Buying a car remotely without having the opportunity to see and test drive it is not an easy task.
After a few phone calls and emails with Damian and Antony, you know all need to know and ask for about the car you spotted on the website and you feel you can trust them.
They know what they are talking about and do not hide anything. Very helpful with payment and support to get delivery organised, I went through all the process very smoothly with a car serviced and delivered at home to France in less than 2 weeks.
I highly recommend for you to consider seriously GP Sevens to buy the Caterham you are dreaming about since a long time!

Thanks so much for the tremendous service you gave me when I bought my Roadsport, despite the Covid restrictions and the best endeavours of foul weather on the way home yesterday! Your beautifully prepared car was plastered in the M25 and M1 best quality lorry-droppings when we got back, but it was easily cleaned off this morning before my first drive. I thought it would take quite a vehicle to compare with the performance of my K1300S BMW, but 140 brake in 560kg seems to have done the trick, it’s an eye-opener.
I must congratulate you and GPSevens level of service, both of the car before I took delivery and the paperwork when I collected it, everything was ready and everything was of the best possible quality, thanks. I noted that you went more than the extra mile when you carried out the pre-delivery service, under the bonnet was like a new car.

Massive thanks for your time yesterday, the whole process from the initial call to finding the right car has been brilliant. The Covid restrictions has meant that detailing the car, giving me photos , history etc meant the process was hassle free and brilliantly explained.

I’ve got the seven club membership set up and I’m sure I’ll be scanning the forums Religiously in no time and thanks for including that in the sale.
I’ve since had both the kids out in it as I found a John Lewis adjustable /foldable high back seat that fits perfect and they love the Experience so much they fall asleep.
Big thanks to you both and your tech for sorting the service/mot and fitting the phone bracket you all come across as very assertive, professional and knowledgeable.

I have been thinking of buying a Caterham for a while – I enjoy track days and have lightly modified an old Mazda MX5 to do them. It has been great fun but I have been thinking that I would like to step up a level or two. I also own a Lotus Elise, it is great fun on the road but I find it strangely underwhelming on track.
It seemed logical (or at least.. ‘man logic’!) to replace the Lotus and the Mazda with one car – a Caterham!
I did some research and then approached Damian and Antony and they quickly established that a Superlight would be the right Caterham to fit my particular needs.
They had just sold 2 Superlights and didn’t have another in stock but said they would find me one.
A few weeks later Damian phoned me and said he had just taken in a Riviera blue Sigma Superlight – I was given first refusal and bought it a few days later.
What has impressed me most has been the depth of knowledge of the cars and the emphasis on customer care. There has never been any pressure or rush, just a quiet assurance that I am dealing with guys who know these cars inside out and are passionate about them.

Looking to buy my first Caterham at the ripe old age of 60 I did a fair bit of research and knew I wanted to buy my car from a Caterham Specialist. GP Sevens were on a very short list and when I saw the Superlight R they had in stock (at an extremely reasonable price).
I knew my search was complete. Although they were a fair trek from home it’s worth the journey. Both Antony and Damian are extremely friendly and relaxed and gave us all the time in the world to explore their collection and chat without pressure before a ballistic track drive around the local country lanes.
Antony couldn’t do enough to help, arranging to put in a lowered floor before delivery and sourcing various other second-hand items for me like spare wheels and an aero-screen which saved a few pennies.
Both Damian and Antony drove the car up to Birmingham personally for the ‘covid friendly’ hand-over. Absolute top class service and I cannot recommend them enough!

My first impression of GP Sevens was one of a business run by two very knowledgeable guys who offer a warm welcome and want to ” let you buy” the right 7 from them and not push you into something unsuitable.
There’s no hard sell , indeed I was given the freedom to choose the 7 ‘s which initially grabbed my attention and once I had my shortlist Antony Paine went through the specifications with me .
In summary , nothing is too much trouble for either of the owners or their enthusiastic staff.
I have no hesitation in recommending GP Sevens and I would definitely return to them for my next Seven as I’m now fully hooked on the “Caterham Experience “.

Before my first visit to GP Sevens, I had previously learnt that every Caterham is very personal to its owner – The car that suits one person will probably not be ideal for another. Thus there was probably an element of ‘fate’ that I found my ideal car waiting for me in the GP Sevens showroom. Despite the huge choice of colours and models sitting there, I was immediately impressed that neither Antony nor Damian made any special effort to ‘sell’ me a car. They were both enormously helpful and knowledgeable, but not in the least ‘persuasive’. Their experience showed that the right car will sell itself to the appropriate buyer, and the buyer will instinctively know when they’ve found the right car. Even though I had made my intention to buy ‘something’ quite obvious, there was no attempt to just shift stock.MY car was obviously the most beautiful car in the showroom – but that is what every buyer will invariably say. Nevertheless she had one notable blemish that I just couldn’t overlook: the wrong badge on the nosecone! It had the new oblong, green and yellow ‘Caterham’ badge, and it just looked out of place on the gorgeous blue and silver Supersport. This however proved no problem for Damian to rectify, and when I picked her up a week or so later this ‘eyesore’ had been lovingly replaced with a far more appropriate black and silver ‘7’ badge.If such friendly and unobtrusive pre-sales assistance wasn’t enough, I later had cause to request a few other post-sales alterations, and these were all professionally organised, and work carried out very efficiently, with a similar level of exceptional expertise and ‘friendship’.I doubt that either Antony or Damian would promise that they will always have the ideal car for every potential buyer in stock, but I can promise you that if you do find your Caterham in the GP Sevens showroom, you will not be disappointed with the level of service and expertise you will experience from your two newest friends.Thank you both,

I would like to thank you and Damian for preparing and selling me my first Caterham Roadsport. I was looking for a replacement for my Frogeye Sprite that I had owned since I was 17 – (35 years ago!) I had looked at other alternatives, wanting something that was unusual and made me smile. It is never going to be my main transport, so it was and is all about re-gaining the fun of driving.I had a couple – ok a number – of false starts with other specialist car dealers and alternate cars, but none fitted the bill of making a large purchase (for me) a pleasure.I made contact after finding Chapman Cars on the web and was pleased to get an immediate feel of someone that was helpful and knowledgeable. I emailed and confirmed an appointment and was met by Antony, given a coffee and a proper look round the prospective car. We went for a test drive, again with no pressure to purchase, just some knowledgeable information about the car and the company, providing me with the kind of confidence needed to help make a decision.I smiled all the time on the test drive and confirmed I wanted the car. The paperwork was clearly explained and a deposit taken and given another coffee and walk round the car, all in a relaxed helpful manner.Damian and his team’s car preparation was above and beyond, Antony pointed out a couple of things he wasn’t delighted with about the car to me and these were all sorted with no fuss, ready for the handover. I was contacted by Chapman Cars in response to an advert for the sale of my Caterham Supersport SV. After a friendly phone call where the full process was described to me I agreed to sell my car through Chapman Cars I’m was extremely happy with the professional and friendly service I received from start to finish. The car was picked up using a covered trailer and transported to the showroom, it was then treated to a full valet and a set of professional photos which made it look it’s absolute best. There were a few interested buyers and various deals were discussed, during which I was kept fully informed of the progress being made. When the sale was complete the agreed money was transfers to my account the same day and all paperwork was handled by Chapman Cars. Overall it was a very slick professional service that involved very little effort on my part, as far as I’m concerned if your looking to sell your Caterham it doesn’t get any easier than using Chapman Cars. I’ve had an excellent experience buying my first Caterham from Chapman Cars.I contacted them after researching different Caterham specialists and chose them after speaking to them on the phone. They found out what I wanted from the car and invited me to come and see the cars so that we could decide some of the main specifications. We decided on a wide bodied car (for the, ehem, wider bodied gentleman) and I wanted a Ford Duratec engine.They had a car in stock that they were refurbishing and from what I can see they’ve completely refurbished it – even painting it again as part of the refurb (meaning I could choose my colour and decal combination). I mainly dealt with Damian who was, at some times, even more enthusiastic about the car than I was. They were able to deliver the car to me a few hundred miles away on a trailer which was really helpful too and the icing on the cake for an all round excellent customer experience.Thank you Damian and Antony and the young mechanic whose name I have forgotten who did most of the refurb work on the car.

Fifteen years ago I built a Seven from a kit and probably like many others sold the car a few years later. But of course that was not the end of the affair; whenever I saw a Seven on the road or parked where I could have a closer look, that past enthusiasm for the marque always returned.I tried to find a sensible alternative in an MX5 but I knew pretty soon after buying one it was never going to measure up so it had to go. Recently I started looking for a Seven again, following the inevitable internet searches and rejecting a few examples from other dealers I found Chapman Cars.Antony and Damian clearly knew the Seven in depth from many years with the type. This, and their location in a beautiful part of Kent proved to be a bit of a shrine to all things Lotus and Caterham. I am very choosy when it comes to Sevens, so it was really rewarding to find a good stock of clean well cared for examples with the back up of full service facilities.I came away with a beautiful 1600K Roadsport with low mileage, clearly previously owned by sad polishers like myself. Just thought I’d drop you an email about how I’m getting on with my car.Firstly I must say that I am totally pleased with the service you offered me from start to finish, I must say that all the purchases with cars I have made over years of motoring your start to finish service left me with total confidence with buying my first Caterham ..even my daughter Emma made a comment about how good you both were (that’s worth its weight in gold to me).I was a little worried about the drive home initially due to the majority of motorway I needed to use.. But was surprised that the drive was quite exhilarating and comfortable .. Did have a bit of a problem with the near side mirror when pulling back in but I’ll get used to that in time.Have been out in the car to show my mates and all thought it was in terrific condition and a testament to how the previous owner kept it. One of my mates that is usually critical in a banter sort of way was very quiet and just looking around the car. I said to him your smitten aren’t you. He just replied I want one..Since then he’s rang me a bit more than usual with the conversation moving around to the car quickly. Got to go now as I’ve got some aluminium to polish

The time you took to show us around the different spec’s and giving us both a deep understanding and history into the different type’s of Caterham’s on the market. I bought a Roadsport from Chapman Cars in July and have been having so much fun in the car (my 1st Caterham) that I’ve only just got round to singing their praises now in October.Damian and Antony offer a really friendly, helpful, professional service, their knowledge of the marque is incredible. A quick word of thanks for a very professional service. A delightfully tempting array of extremely well presented quality cars which, in the metal, were just as good looking as on the website.After years of being ‘almost there’ but not quite seeing the right car for whatever reason (I’m fussy – that’s why), I would have happily driven away with any of your cars but the orange SV Roadsport ticked every box on my list so, as you will recall, the decision to buy was made in minutes.If it hadn’t been for the orange car, I’d have jumped at the Kawasaki Green Series 3, despite looking for an SV, but it had been sold in hours; I’m not surprised and I hope and trust the new owner is as happy with their purchase as I am with mine.A special note of appreciation also for the speed with which the extras I had asked for were sorted and for arranging transport here to the frozen north. I expected to wait a couple of weeks not 4 working days which included a 500 mile delivery.Splendid cars and splendid service. Kind regards

Hi Damian, Got back home ok. The car is incredible! Thanks to you and Antony again for all your help along the way. It’s been a very enjoyable experience buying from Chapman Cars. I was introduced to Damian by a friend who has had dealings with him before. My friend informed me that he used to be the Sales Manager at Caterham cars and has a vast knowledge of all things Caterham.I was after a Caterham 7 for leisure and a few track days.Damian found a Roadsport for me which he rebuilt and painted for me in my preferred colours at a reasonable cost which I was very happy with.After a few months of getting used to the car I asked Damian to upgrade it for me to a Supersport, which he did quickly and professionally.Further down the line I discussed selling my Supersport and asked Damian to find me a R500 to purchase, but I needed to sell my Supersport first.Damian sold my Supersport for me within 2 weeks and I even made a small profit and he found me an R500I am now the proud owner of a R500 SV and very happy with Damian’s service!’1034′ name=’Andrew E’ subtitle=” link=” ]After far too many years lusting after a Caterham to be a bedmate to my 308GTB I spotted the exact spec I wanted at Chapman Cars (1.6 supersport 6 speed) in a glorious colour comboWow how easy was it to move from lusting to owning. I had been looking to purchase my first Caterham Seven for a while, and needed to understand the cars.I decided to call up Chapman Cars when passing by, and spoke to Damian. I was invited to meet at the showroom and although late in the day and just returning from collecting a Black Road Sport VVC, Damian took the time to show me around the different models and explain the various engines and configurations. I left knowing that I wanted to own a seven, and a few days later was arranging a test drive of the Black VVC I had seen them bring in. The test drive was fantastic and everything explained. I am now the proud owner of the Black Road Sport VVC and looking forward to enjoying many fun drives.The experience of finding a car, purchasing and driving away was made trouble free and enjoyable. The purchase could not have been simpler for something that has already proved such fun to own.
